Land Clearing & Lot Preparation in Fayetteville, AR

Brush, undergrowth, and tree clearing for residential and commercial builds.

From new home sites in West Fayetteville to commercial pads in Bentonville, land clearing is the first step of every Ozark build. Ozark Tree Experts handles full clearing, selective clearing, brush mulching, and stump removal for parcels from a quarter-acre up to 40 acres. We operate forestry mulchers, skid steers with grapples, dozers, and chippers — matching the right equipment to your site so we deliver a building-ready surface at the lowest possible cost.

Full Clearing vs. Selective Clearing

Full clearing removes every tree, stump, and shrub on the parcel — appropriate for slab homes, commercial pads, agricultural conversion, and rural infrastructure. Selective clearing retains the trees you want to keep (mature shade trees, native specimens, screening) and removes everything else — a smarter choice for custom homes that want a wooded character. We mark every retain-tree with you in person before any equipment moves, and we install root protection zones to prevent compaction and trunk damage during construction.

Forestry Mulching

For brush, undergrowth, briars, and small trees under 8 inches, forestry mulching is the fastest and cheapest method. A tracked mulcher grinds everything in place into a uniform 2–4 inch layer of organic mulch — no burning, no hauling, no stump grinding. The mulch layer suppresses regrowth, controls erosion, and decomposes into the soil over 2–3 years. We use forestry mulching extensively for fence-line clearing, trail building, view restoration on Ozark hillside lots, and prep work before final selective tree removal.

Stump Removal and Site Grading

Most clearing projects require stump removal to a depth that supports the planned construction. We grind to 6 inches for landscape, 12 inches for slab-on-grade, and 18+ inches where deeper footings or driveways are planned. Rough grading and pad shaping are available with our skid steers and dozers, though final precision grading is usually best left to your site contractor.
